School of Textiles in Bosnien und Herzegowina

Die Wirtschaft von Bosnien und Herzegowina (BIH) wird von den Industriezweigen Holz, Bau, Metallverarbeitung, Lebensmittel, Textilien und Leder sowie Tourismus dominiert. Politische Unsicherheit, mangelnde Transparenz und Rechtssicherheit, eine komplexe Bürokratie und die starke Abwanderung junger und besser qualifizierter Menschen in die benachbarten EU-Länder bremsen seit 2019 die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung.

Trotz der vielen Herausforderungen, mit denen das Land konfrontiert ist, hat BIH ein großes Entwicklungspotenzial. Aufgrund seiner zentralen Lage bietet sich BIH als günstiger Standort für Unternehmen an, die die Märkte in West- und Südosteuropa bedienen wollen. Gute Perspektiven bieten sich unter anderem im Bereich der Bekleidungsindustrie, die in BIH eine lange Tradition hat und über ein großes Exportpotenzial verfügt.

Niedrige Löhne, ein unattraktives Arbeitsumfeld und eine veraltete textile Berufsausbildung führen dazu, dass sich nur wenige junge Menschen für eine solche Ausbildung entscheiden. Vor allem die Themen nachhaltige Produktion und Recycling, die für eine zukünftige Textilindustrie zwingend notwendig sind, werden in der Ausbildung nicht behandelt.

Nur durch eine fundierte Ausbildung, die alle Bereiche der Textilindustrie einbezieht/abdeckt, kann es BIH gelingen, die Wertschöpfung im Land zu erhöhen und damit höhere Löhne und bessere Arbeitsbedingungen zu ermöglichen. Der Verband der Nordostdeutschen Textil- und Bekleidungsindustrie e.V. (vti) möchte dazu beitragen, dass in BIH eine nachhaltige Textilfacharbeiterausbildung mit dem Namen "STEB - School of Textiles in Bosnia and Herzegovina" im Kanton Zenica-Doboj aufgebaut wird.

Mit besser qualifizierten Fachkräften können Unternehmen höhere Umsätze erzielen und ihre Wettbewerbsfähigkeit durch bessere Produktqualität verbessern. Für qualifizierte Fachkräfte steigen die Beschäftigungs- und Verdienstmöglichkeiten. Da in der Bekleidungsindustrie fast ausschließlich Frauen arbeiten, wird auch ein wichtiger Beitrag zur Einkommenssicherung von Frauen geleistet. Dies wiederum trägt dazu bei, die Abwanderung zu verringern.

School of Textiles in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) is dominated by the industrial sectors of wood, construction, metal processing, food, textiles and leather, and tourism. Political uncertainty, lack of transparency and legal certainty, complex bureaucracy, and high emigration of young and better qualified people to neighbouring EU countries, have been slowing economic development since 2019.

Despite the many challenges facing the country, BIH has great potential for development. Due to its central location, BIH offers itself as a favourable location for companies that want to serve the markets of Western and South-Eastern Europe. Good prospects are available, among others, in the area of the clothing industry, which has a long tradition in BIH, and which has great export potential.

Low wages, an unattractive working environment and outdated vocational textile training, leads to the fact that only a few young people decide for such training. Above all, the topics of sustainable production and recycling, mandatory for a future textile industry, are not covered by the training.

Only through a well-founded education, which includes / covers all areas of the textile industry, BIH can succeed in increasing the added value in the country and thus enable higher wages and better working conditions. The Association of the North-East German Textile and Clothing Industry (vti)would like to contribute to the establishment of a sustainable textile skilled worker training in BIH with the name "STEB - School of Textiles in Bosnia and Herzegovina" in the canton Zenica-Doboj.

With better qualified skilled workers, companies will be able to generate higher revenues and improve their competitiveness through better product quality. For qualified skilled workers, employment and earning opportunities will increase. Since the garment industry is almost exclusively made up of women, an important contribution is also made to securing women's incomes. This in turn helps to reduce migration.

By providing training for skilled workers, it is possible to create jobs and to encourage young people to set up new businesses. Our aim is to lay the foundations for a sustainable textile industry, for which the dual education system, established in Germany, serves as a model. The modern training shall contribute to the strengthening and an innovative orientation of the textile industry in BIH and thus to a sustainable development of the country.
